On The Walls Documentary Festival 2025, now in it’s 5th edition, is renowned for its unique setting, the Castello di Potentino — a magnificent castle set in the stunning Tuscan landscape.

Films are projected onto the medieval courtyard walls at night and in the chapel in the afternoons.

The event aims to give small communities access to broader global issues. Remote rural areas have hardly any cinemas left and access to contemporary culture is very limited.

A symposium-style weekend, the festival fosters dialogue between all participants with in-person and virtual Q&As, a live concert under the stars with world-class directors, producers, and guests from around the world.

Entrance to the festival and submission for the Young Documentary Film Award is free to make it accessible to the local population.
